How To Find Us
Location & How to Find Us
We are based next to Leigh Court Farm, Abbots Leigh, BS8 3RA
(Please note: this is not Leigh Woods!)
Important: The postcode does not take you directly to our car park. Please follow the directions below.
By Car
Follow the A369 out of Bristol through Abbots Leigh.
Go past The George pub, continue past the bus shelter, and turn right at:
-
the large green sign for Leigh Court, and
-
the large sign for Bracken Wood Garden Centre
(If you are arriving from the Portishead direction, these signs will be on your left, partway up the hill.)
Our car park is 50 metres down this drive, the first turning on your left, directly opposite the Bracken Wood Plant Centre entrance. It is signposted:
“Leigh Court Farm Visitor and Bristol Forest School Parking.”
Please park on the right-hand side of the track to keep access clear for farm vehicles.
By Bus
There are two bus stops on either side of the main A369 near the turning for the forest school and plant centre.
We recommend using Google Maps for bus journeys, as it will guide you through any bus changes and walking routes—and will also direct you accurately to our woodland entrance.
As you approach the woods, look out for the ribbons hanging down on the left-hand side and follow these into the woodland.
By Bike
Cycling to the woods is a lovely option. Popular routes include:
-
Through Ashton Court
-
Via Leigh Woods
-
Along the river towpath
-
Up through Paradise Bottom
You may bring your bike all the way into the woods. A Forest School leader will show you where it can be safely left during the session.
The Forest School Site
We have two Preschool sites in our woods. The Round House Glade and Mossy Glen. All sessions will take place in either depending on the weather. Our preschool play areas include tunnels, dens, percussion, skittles, balancing logs, climbing net, leaf kitchen, charcoal painting, chalk drawing, digging bed and we’re making more all the time!
Both Preschool sites have some covered areas where we set up additional activities and keep us protected, if its wet.
This site is only available to visit during scheduled forest school sessions
