How To Find Us
We are based next to Leigh Court Farm, Abbot’s Leigh, BS8 3RA (This is not Leigh Woods!)
**NB postcode does not take you to exact car park: please follow directions below**
Please follow the A369 out of Bristol through Abbots leigh. Go past the George Pub, past the bus shelter and turn right at the big green sign for Leigh Court and another large sign for Bracken Wood garden centre, (this is on the left coming up the hill if arriving from Portishead direction). Our carpark is 50m down this drive, the first turning on your left opposite the Bracken Wood Plant Centre entrance- signposted Leigh Court Farm Visitor and Bristol Forest School Parking. Please park on the right hand side (to keep the track clear for farm traffic)
If you are arriving by bus there are two stops, one either side of the main Pill A369 road Just before the turning to the forest school and plant centre. I recommend using google maps to guide you for the buses (as it will direct you if you have to change buses and walk to another stop), but also it will direct you to our woods. Please keep a look out for the ribbons hanging down on the left hand side and follows these.
If you are cycling to the woods, there are various routes coming through Ashton Court and Lee woods, coming along the river tow path and up through paradise bottom. to name but a few. You may bring your bike all the way into the woods. The FS leader with direct you where is a safe place to leave it.
The Forest School Site
We have two Preschool sites in our woods. The Round House Glade and Mossy Glen. All fortnightly group sessions take place in the Round House Glade with our weekly sessions taking place in the Mossy Glen. Our preschool play areas include tunnels, dens, percussion, skittles, balancing logs, climbing net, leaf kitchen, charcoal painting, chalk drawing, digging bed and we’re making more all the time!
Both Preschool areas have some covered areas for when it gets wet. In the Round House Glade we have a lovely round house where we can have a fire and a parachute and tarp covered area where we also have activities. In the Mossy Glen the fire circle is covered by a large parachute and we have another covered area for our additional activity.
Bristol Forest School is only available to visit during scheduled forest school sessions
